Level Items
Coins Collect 100 for an extra life.
Super Mushroom Collect one as regular Mario to grow into Super Mario.
Racoon Leaf One of these will
give you the power of temporary flight and the ability to smash things
from
the side (enemies, blocks,
etc.)
Fire Flower Get one to gain the power of shooting fire-balls.
1-up Mushroom Gives you an extra life
Tanooki Suit Similar to the racoon leaf but also enables you to turn into a statue to avoid enemies' attacks.
Frog Suit Makes swimming easier
and makes you jump higher. It is also not affected by currents in the
water.
Hammer Bros. Suit Gives you
the most powerful weapon in the game, HAMMERS!!!! They kill all enemies
in
one go. When you duck your
shell protects you from enemy fireballs.
Starman Makes you temporarily invincible.
Kuribo's Shoe Steal one of
these from a Kuribo's Goomba and you can stand on anything. Any enemies
you
jump on (even spiky or piranha
plant ones) will be killed.
Magic Wand Beat a Koopa Kid to get this item and complete the world.
Map Screen Items
Hammer Lets you destroy rocks on the map screen, letting you get to new areas
Anchor Stops the Airships from flying away from you. They are very well hidden though.
P-Wing Gives you unlimited flight until the end of the stage (or if you lose your racoon suit)
Jugem's Cloud Lets you skip any level except castles.
Warp Whistle find these to skip to another world.
